Imogen Eve Lawley

The waiting game is over!

Julia gave birth to Imogen Eve Lawley at 02:42 on Monday July, 3rd after 7 1/2 hours labour. Imogen weighed in at 7lb 9.5oz, which was way over our conservative estimates! Julia had just over 6lb and I guessed 6lb 8oz

Hello 'ittle un
Imogen Just Minutes Old

I got some bonding time after before Julia and Imogen were sent to the recovery ward and I was sent home for some rest..

Back bright and early, Imogen got checked over by the pedotrician and was bright and alert before chilling out in the heat. Julia was doing a great job looking after Imogen, where as I quickly realised my nappy changing technique was awful! but I have improved and I’m well on the way to becoming Nappy Changing Master!

Julia Back Home
Julia settles back at home

Late this morning Mother and Baby were released and we are all settling in back at home, comfort levels not helped by the heat and the annual swarms of thrips - crawling all over you, the walls and basically everything! Despite this mother and baby are resting up and daddy is ready and on call!

Now the real work begins!….

to be continued…

Waiting Game

Posted by Julia Tue, 20 Jun 2006 21:38:00 GMT

Today is the day we’ve been working to as the day of Baby Davey’s arrival. Needless to say he hasn’t arrived!
Ross is working on the assumption that he’ll arrive tomorrow (21st), but I think Saturday (24th).
We went to the midwife today who assured us that things are moving in the right direction so it’s just a case of waiting now…

Disaster Master - Update

Posted by Julia Wed, 07 Jun 2006 19:39:00 GMT

After a week of having to leave the house at 9am, going to Tesco for my breakfast, having the same conversation with the lady on the cafe till about when I’m due, and whether I know if Baby Davey is a boy or a girl, and then spending the rest of the day at Jim and Sineads house so the decorator could work undisturbed, I’ve finally got my house back! I’m very grateful to Jim and Sinead who have a very very comfy sofa, which is very conducive to day time naps, and sky tv, so I was able to spend hours watching about weddings and babies.
Jamie, the decorator, was here from last Tuesday (29th May) to yesterday (6th June) sorting out the damage. Whilst he was here, we also got him to get rid of the nasty terracotta paintwork, so we have a lovely neutral front room, and stairs rather than the orangey nightmare that was there before. All that remains to do, is get the furniture put back as it’s currently all stacked up in Baby Davey’s room, and put some nice pictures up on the wall.
Hooray!

Few things still left to sort…

I’m 38 weeks and 1 day now, so I’m actively looking for twinges now. Nothing’s happened yet, which is just as well, as it would have been horrible bringing a Baby home with decorating going on.
The weather was good over the weekend, so we were able to get the garden looking a bit tidier, (when I say we, I sat and pointed, and Ross did the hard work…).

We’ve also got a little sparrow who has moved into the guttering at the back of the house and he’s very noisey! He’s been christened Spartacus. He might as well have a name to go with the Gerbils, Guinea Pigs, and Hamster…sad as I am!
