Disaster Master

Less than two months before Baby Davey is due to make his big entrance into the world, there’s a disaster in the Lawley household (Baldock Branch).

It seems our house, (The Little Crooked House), as well as having odd shaped doors, bowed door frames, rattley windows, and various other quirks, also has a leaking toilet. The first Ross and I knew about it was couple of days ago when, whilst sitting down to eat lunch, I was dripped on! Upon further investigation, we could see the ceiling was in fact dripping and that the walls were sodden and the wallpaper about to fall off. We couldn’t find the source of the leak ourselves, but thanks to an emergency plumber and a call out fee, it was found to be the water inlet pipe that goes into the toilet cistern. So this was swiftly fixed, but we now have to wait to see if the insurance will cover repairing the damage to the front room. We haven’t managed to work out if the bathroom floor is damaged yet, due to the stuck down vinyl floor tiles and ceramic wall tiles.

Hopefully we’ll be able to get a swift resolution of this, but in the meantime, we have a lovely damp smell in the front room.

Peeling Wallpaper…nice!

Physio

Posted by Julia Wed, 12 Apr 2006 17:35:00 GMT

I had my appointment with the Physio this morning. Basically the problem I’m having with my back is due to the pregnacy hormones relaxing my pelvis. This then means that little things like me not sitting in the best postition when I’m working are making everything more painful. I’ve been given some excercises to do, which hopefully will ease the problem, and if I need to go back at anytime I can. Fingers crossed.

As of today I have, 18 days left at work. Hopefully I can arrange to work as many of those as possible at home, as it makes life so much easier, not having to travel in.

Baby Grace Arrives!

Posted by Ross Sun, 09 Apr 2006 21:53:00 GMT

After a long, long labour Rachel gave birth to baby Grace on Saturday 9:37am - weighing a good 7lbs 9oz. Richard called the news through, whilst Julia and I were in Tescos and I was buying new glasses - so all the opticians shared in the news! Julia and I were buzzing all day and promptly checked with Richard if it was ok to pop down for a visit on Sunday - which it was!

Rachel with Grace

After a bite to eat with my Mum and Dad we headed off to the hospital in Basingstoke - quite an eye opener for Julia and I as it brings everything to life! Both Rachel and Richard looked great and were beaming ear to ear! Baby Grace was quiet for the whole hour after being passed round from person to person. Mind you, I still have a fear of dropping the baby! - so my turn wasn’t very long, but I guessing the comfortability factor comes with practise / experience!

I have a video of Rich with the baby that I will try to add to the site! - So more soon…
